David "Pops" Doersch has been choreographing staged violence and teaching stage combat for much of the past seventeen years. In his work he has taught at over twenty universities and colleges and staged fights at many of the leading theatres across this country. He has enjoyed the opportunity to work with many prominent theatre directors, including JoAnne Akalaitis, Richard Hamburger, Garland Wright, Liviu Ciulei and many others. Currently, David teaches at the College of William and Mary and devotes great effort on the executive committee of the International Order of the Sword and the Pen, a global association of stage combat professionals from over 18 countries. This work has taken him to Scotland, Egypt, England, Canada, South Africa and Kenya.
