Stefan is an Associate Artist at MetroStage where he has directed, choreographed or appeared in several productions including Poetry & Tango (featuring Broadway actor and two time Helen Hayes award winner Natascia Diaz), Jason Odell Williams’ fast paced dramedy Church & State, Terrence McNally’s Mothers & Sons and Frankie and Johnny (as part of a McNally Tribute) and Sheridan Morley’s musical Noel & Gertie.
Stefan received the Broadway World Award for Best Director for Frankie and Johnny, as well as a BWA nomination for Directing Mothers & Sons, both at MetroStage. Frankie & Johnny also won the BWA for Best Play and Ewan Chung for Best Supporting Performer for Mothers & Sons. Both plays also received nominations for Best Play of the season and the entire adult casts of both productions were also nominated in their respective categories.
Other directing credits include Trabajadores (the World Premiere of the Spanish version of Stephen Schwartz's Working), Cole Porter’s Anything Goes and Red Hot & Cole, Jerry Herman’s Jerry’s Girls and the 60’s revue Beehive.
This Spring he will be Directing and Choreographing Douglas Carter Beane's Xanadu for Workhouse Arts Center.
