Bruce Lecure is an Associate Professor (tenured) and Movement Specialist in the Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Miami where he teaches stage combat/weapons, physical characterization, actor physical self-use, period style movement, and mask work. Mr. Lecure's work has been seen throughout the country in the professional and academic arenas. He has worked locally as a fight director for the Coconut Grove Playhouse, Florida Grand Opera, City Theatre, Florida International University and the University of Miami. He has taught stage combat for the following academic institutions: University of Miami, University of Kentucky, Southern Methodist University, Interlochen Center for the Arts, Idyllwild Arts Academy, Mountain View College as well as numerous workshops and master classes. Mr. Lecure has published over 20 articles on theatre movement in 6 separate theatre journals. He received his MFA in the Professional Actor Training Program at Southern Methodist University in 1985.
